NICU Christmas Stocking Donation

Christmas can be an especially hard time to be away from family and all of the holiday traditions we love. Many families find themselves in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) with a child facing medical complications. Each year Blessed with More prepares a special Christmas stocking for these babies and their families in Duluth, Minnesota.

Although our little ones didn’t make it to the NICU (we had anticipated spending many days/weeks/months there with triplets who had medical complications), it’s a place that’s close to our hearts. Many friends and family members have spent time in the NICU with their precious children. My nephew, Everett, was one of them and today he’s a healthy, strong little boy. (His mom, Kaylie, has helped me stuff these stockings in recent years.)

We choose special gifts that help families celebrate Christmas with their child and provide items that they can enjoy when they take their baby home. We also try to provide memory making items for those families who might not be able to bring their child home, which is close to my heart as a loss mom myself.

This year’s items include:

  • Coffee gift cards
  • Fleece blanket
  • Sleep sacks
  • Small plush animal
  • Restaurant gift card
  • Board book
  • Walmart gift card
  • Photo ornament
  • Teething toy
  • Plaster hand print kit
  • Lip balm
  • Hand cream
  • Hand sanitizer
  • Notebook
  • Pen
  • Tissues

I’d love to thank our business sponsors for the 2018 NICU Christmas stockings, as well as friends and family who have given cash donations for gift cards and Amazon wish list items!
